Nebraska Hoops Elite Celebrates Central High Players' Scholarships and National Recognition

Nebraska Hoops Elite is proud to announce the impressive achievements of three standout players from Central High School who recently showcased their skills at high-profile basketball camps. Nebraska Hoops Elite is a partner program of EPIC for Girls, a Lozafina Marketing and Public Relations client.

Nebraska Hoops Elite is a premier basketball training and development organization dedicated to empowering young athletes through high-quality coaching, competitive opportunities, and exposure to collegiate programs. The organization strives to foster talent, instill discipline, and create pathways for young players to achieve their goals both on and off the court.

EPIC for Girls, a nonprofit organization, is dedicated to empowering and supporting young girls of color in sports while also researching, advocating for, and funding innovative solutions to address sports inequities. In collaboration with Lozafina, EPIC for Girls also offers "Girl Talk," a paid sports marketing internship designed to equip young BIPOC women with essential skills for thriving in the dynamic fields of marketing and public relations.

The Latest at Nebraska Hoops Elite…

Sanai Cotton-Welch, Aa’Laiya Davis, and Amiyja Hughes demonstrated exceptional talent, resilience, and competitiveness, earning recognition and scholarship offers from collegiate programs.

Sanai Cotton-Welch, a sophomore at Central High School, was selected to attend Chris Paul’s 13th Annual CP3 Elite Rising Stars National Camp last September. Competing against some of the nation’s top players, Cotton-Welch delivered an outstanding performance, highlighting her potential as a rising star in women’s basketball.

Aa’Laiya Davis, a senior at Central High School, attended the prestigious Courtside Camp, where she impressed coaches and scouts with her high-level play against elite competition. Davis has since received a scholarship offer from the University of Arts & Sciences of Oklahoma, and several additional colleges have shown interest following her performance at the camp.

Amiyja Hughes, also a senior at Central High School, recently received another scholarship offer, this time from Minnesota North College-Vermillion. Her hard work and dedication have made her a highly sought-after player in the collegiate basketball world.

“Leveling the playing field and making an impact!” said Coach Latrell Wrightsell. Nebraska Hoops Elite is committed to providing players with access to high-quality training and exposure opportunities to help them reach their collegiate basketball goals. The organization looks forward to the continued success of these athletes as they progress in their basketball journeys and inspire the next generation of players.
