Omaha Food Lovers Spotlighted on KETV for Community Impact

Last week, Omaha Food Lovers was featured on KETV for its inspiring efforts to unite Omaha’s food enthusiasts and combat food insecurity through its impactful partnership with Food Bank for the Heartland. The segment highlighted the launch of the highly-anticipated Omaha Food Lovers Black Card Membership, a program that combines exclusive dining perks with a philanthropic mission to support families across Nebraska and western Iowa.
“We’re thrilled to bring Omaha’s vibrant food community together to celebrate the launch of something truly special,” said Kevin Matsovsky of Omaha Food Lovers. “The OFL Black Card Membership is our way of connecting food enthusiasts with exclusive access to the city’s best dining experiences while giving back to those in need.”
Since 2020, Omaha Food Lovers has hosted an annual virtual fundraiser, donating 100% of the proceeds to Food Bank for the Heartland. To date, the group has raised over $344,000 to help fight food insecurity.
This year’s fundraiser, launching on Black Friday, includes an exciting incentive: a chance to win gift cards to local restaurants. More than 200 restaurants have partnered with Omaha Food Lovers to make this possible.
“This group is an extraordinary testament to the incredible impact we can achieve together,” said Brian Barks, President and CEO of Food Bank for the Heartland. “We are grateful to every Omaha Food Lover who has supported our mission. These funds directly benefit our neighbors, ensuring they have access to the fresh food they need to thrive, especially during the holiday season.”
The fundraiser aligns with the Food Bank’s Shine the Light on Hunger campaign, running from Nov. 19 through Dec. 31, further amplifying its reach and impact.
Introducing the OFL Black Card Membership
Omaha Food Lovers is also launching its first membership program on Black Friday, featuring the exclusive OFL Black Card. The membership includes perks like:
10% discounts at over 200 participating restaurants
Secret menu items and VIP dining events
Invitations to private culinary experiences
Year-round savings at Omaha’s top dining destinations
Additionally, 10% of all membership sales will be donated to Food Bank for the Heartland, blending indulgence with impact.
