See Change 2024: Wavemaker Celebration

  • Film Streams Dundee Theater 4952 Dodge Street Omaha, NE, 68132 United States (map)

In 2020 Film Streams began an annual tradition of honoring trailblazing female film producers to champion gender parity. This year, Gale Anne Hurd and Valerie Red-Horse Mohl have been selected to receive the Wavemaker Award.

Kicking off the two-day celebration is a screening of the special 25th anniversary film Dick, featuring Kristen Dunst and Michelle Williams. After the film, hear from Hurd and Mohl in conversation with Diana Martinez.

On Saturday, November 16, catch a screening of Mankiller and another post-film discussion. Mankiller is directed and produced by Mohl and executive produced by Hurd. It examines the legacy of American hero Wilma Mankiller, the Cherokee Nation’s first woman Principal Chief. This film is the duos third collaboration.

Tickets can be purchased here.
